Miriam’s Well

25 1/2" x 33"

Designed to be photographed for the cover of our Haggadah, the text that is used for the Passover Seder.

Stained glass, stones (some collected in New Zealand) beach glass, fossil.

The legend is that when the Jews were wandering in the desert the well followed Miriam. Where she called it, it appeared. When she died (or when God took her soul) the well disappeared. We are still searching for it because one sip refreshes body, soul and spirit - and makes clear the word of God. In many feminist Haggadahs, there is a blessing said over Miriam's cup - mayim chaiyim - living waters.
